Coker College is a private, co-ed, 4-year liberal arts college located in Hartsville, which is a city in Darlington County, in the US state of South Carolina, with a population estimated at a number of nearly 8000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.
Coker College was founded in 1908 and it is currently ranked among the `Best Colleges` in the South, by US News & World Report and The Princeton Review. It offers its students a total of 29 majors and 23 minors, including individual and double majors, self-designated degree programs, specialization and pre-professional programs.
Coker's athletic teams are known as the Cobras, which compete in Conference Carolinas, in 12 varsity sports, for both men and women, including in tennis, golf, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball and cross country. Their distinctive colors are navy and gold.
